Eye News You Can Use

AHHH, AHHH, CHOOSE Not to suffer with allergies this season!

(09/02/2011)

Rain in Las Vegas? Unheard of...right? Not this year.  Significant rain means flowers and plants of all types will come to life.  Along with these comes pollen and our dreaded allergy season as well.  It's already starting, and will be a very robust allergy season indeed.

It typically starts with your sinus, the congestion and sneezing. For these, over the counter antihistimines work reasonably well.

But what about the
itchy, watery, red eyes?

You might rub your eyes, which only makes it worse.  This requires additional rubbing and more rubbing still, until you feel like pulling your eyes out; STOP this vicious cycle!

I can get you through this allergy season with your eyes still in their sockets!  Your 10 minute exam will reveal the extent the microscopic allergy particles have on your eyes and contact lenses.  The good news is there are many easy to use remedies, listed below, and medicated eye drops to avoid the symptoms of this robust allergy season.

Dr. YESnick's Seasonal Allergy Recommendations:

  1. Keep the humidifier level below 50% to inhibit mold growth.
  2. Keep windows closed.
  3. Hi efficiency air filters remove indoor pollen/dust.
  4. Replace AC air filters regularly.
  5. Wear a mask if working outdoor during hi pollen conditions.
  6. Rinse all exposed skins areas after outdoor exposure.
  7. Wear close fitting sunglasses outside.
  8. Cold compress relieves itching and reduce eyelid swelling.

You have no reason to suffer this allergy season; simply call and come into my office to get a head start on alleviating these symptoms before they occur. I will save you money as well with a FREE supply of allergy free eye drops. I will also include a free trial allergy-free daily disposable contact lens for temporary use during allergy season.  Rest easy; I am here to help you.

Have a fun and safe Labor Day!  Our office will be closed this Monday, September 5th, so our employees can enjoy family time.
